Whilst on my lunch break at work and sitting around the table together with my friends I realized at some point that everyone was preoccupied and busy with their mobile phones, sitting there with their heads down focused on the little screens, sometimes smiling, sometimes frowning, making the odd comment and almost oblivious to what is happening around them.
You ask a question that never gets an answer as everyone is so absorbed into the world offered by the magic gadget, a gadget which I must admit does offers us to a certain extent almost everything, except a physical interaction with those we call friends.
I might as well sit in a different corner, connect on Facebook or WhatsApp and it is most likely that I will get more of their attention and virtual interaction than sitting around this table.
Having said that, I feel that I am as bad as everyone else, I guess.
That is how I decided to do more research and look into how social media, in general, but centred around mobile phones, in particular, have changed us and everything around us, and what impact it does have on our lives. I wish to look at the pro and cons of this contemporary techno-addiction
