The trend of double exposure portraits I “exposed” in my previous posts has been the starter for the reasoning that, since they depict portraits against natural backgrounds, they must be made by extroverts that long for the silence and the inner world of an introvert. This assumption is, naturally, something that can be debated and even attacked. But the point was not to make it a cogent one, rather to spark a bit of controversy and point to the hidden resorts that created this type of imagery.
I believe the trend has a sort of a common author, whose feelings and reasons are yet to be explored. As photographers and artists, I believe we have a responsability towards the emerging trends and we must also act as critics and regulate in a way the artistic outcome of our generation. It is definitely not about pointing fingers, it is about understanding the people behind the artistic expressions in order to make a better connection with the art itself.
